Weary No More, My Lord

Jeremiah 31 25

Today’s Word

Exhausted in strength, endurance, vigor or freshness

Today’s Verse

Jeremiah 31:25

I will fully satisfy the needs of those who are weary and fully refresh the souls of those who are faint

Weary and Weak

There are days when we feel exhausted, not only physically, but also emotionally. It seems as our mind is filled with worries. All together causes us to lose our grip on life, even if for a moment. Needless to say, we become weary, we lose our strength, it’s hard to endure the day.

Satisfy and Refresh

However, God says that He will satisfy our needs when we are weary, and he will bring a breath of fresh air into our souls so that we may regain our strength. Cling on this promise. Seek God’s refreshing strength. Put on the armor of the Holy Spirit and give it your cares, heartaches, and concerns. Let your mind be renewed by the spirit and his grace.

Weary No More

After we let God refresh our spirit, we free our heart, mind, and soul to rejuvenate one more time. It is a completely new mindset. God’s word, spirit, and love will surround our mind and fill it with strength so that we may no longer feel faint.

Thank God

Thank you Lord for strengthening my mind, body, and spirit, for filling my heart with hope, my soul with strength, and my mind with loving scripture. Guide me today, and every day. Remind me to be weary no more.

Hidden Secrets: Truth Revealed

Today’s Word

Keep (something) secret; prevent from being known or noticed.

Today’s Verse

 Luke 12

2 Nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing is secret that will not be made known.

Secrets have a way of revealing themselves. In time, all is known. As we grow in faith and knowledge of the Word of God, the Holy Spirit works in our hearts so that we may confess all our sins, not some, all.

It is such a relief to our heavy hearts once we confess. Our burden is lifted, our heart its cleansed of worries, and our mind is freed from guilt.

Burdens are Lifted

Carrying a secret is like carrying a huge rock on our backs. It weighs us down. It keeps us from working at full capacity. It keeps us from reaching our goals.

Confessing our sins lifts our burdens from our hearts and minds. It stops weighing us down. It allows us to focus on the word of God.

 Hearts are Cleansed

After we confess all of our sins, our hearts are cleansed by God’s forgiveness and acceptance. Instead of putting our efforts into hiding our secret, we can now place our efforts on learning, studying, and applying the Word of God. It can now speak to our cleansed hearts so that we may continue to grow as believers.

A cleansed heart seeks pureness, kindness, and love.

 Mind is Free from Guilt

After our hearts are cleansed, our mind is freed from all guilt. We have our thoughts of God in the forefront. We no longer have to worry, or feel guilty for hiding our secret. We let it out and with that; we released our mind from its binding guilty thoughts.

As our mind is freed, it seeks guidance, self-control, and knowledge.

Holy Spirit: The Presence of God

Today’s Word

Holy Spirit

The spirit of God.

The presence of God as part of a person’s religious experience.

Today’s Verse

Luke 12

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you must say.”

The Holy Spirit resides in each of us that believe that Jesus died for our sins, that He is our redeemer. It guides us, makes us conscious of our words and actions, convicts us when we sin, and grants us peace when we do right by Him, by others, and by our own selves.

When we are faced with a situation good or bad, the Holy Spirit, through us, speaks on our behalf. It allows just the right words to flow.

The Holy Spirit, which dwells in each of us…

Guides us

Each day, we depend on the Holy Spirit to direct our lives. It provides us with the tools we need in each situation we may experience. As we grow in the word of God, we unleash new knowledge that anchors itself in our hearts and allows us to make better decisions. It helps us get through the day in a manner that glorifies God with goodness and kindness in our hearts.

Convicts Us

If our actions or words do not please God, the Holy Spirit convicts us. It lets us know that what we have said or done is wrong. It gently scolds us. It places a burden in our hearts that shows us our wrongs. Not only so, but it shows us what would be right so that we make take corrective action, whether it be repentance or apology.

Grants us Peace

Lastly, the Holy Spirit grants us peace in our hearts when we do or say the right things, when we correct our wrongs, and when we repent. It is a peace that gives us calmness, joyfulness, and goodness. It is a peace abundant with acceptance, forgiveness, and love. It gives rest to the unsettledness of our hearts. It affirms our Faith.

My Heart Leads Me To God

With our hearts we feel. With our mind we think. The heart helps us feel emotions. Our mind processes them. Sometimes, our emotions take over and our mind loses control. Is that a bad thing?
Some may say it is. However, what if the heart is our guide? What if our heart leads us to God? Then, should we say it is not a bad thing, right? It could be that our mind is so cluttered with what we have learned, what we see, what people say its right, that it could cloud our emotions. It could lead us to believe that what we feel is not acceptable.
So, what to do then?
Well, if we allow our heart to feel our pure emotions then it should not lead us astray.
Whenever I do something acceptable by society’s standards, it isn’t necessarily acceptable to God. In that case, I feel shame. My heart, which is filled with God’s love, tells me to feel that way. If my heart is my way to God, then it is no wonder it allows me to feel shame when others feel differently.
In the same token, I may feel guilt while acting in a way that goes against Him. I am glad that I have a heart that helps me feel things that God has planted in it. He has planted seeds of knowledge so that it helps me discern right from wrong. Not because I am told so, but because I feel it in my heart. How wondrous.
Whenever my actions are pleasing to God, I feel happy. I feel joy. The same seeds planted in my heart help me understand that I have done something good, something right.
At the end of the day, my heart allows me to feel at peace with myself and with God. It served as my guide throughout the day to help me feel emotions according to my actions. It helped me feel that what I was doing was right or was wrong. It helped to guide me to God’s way, the right way, the only way.
Romans 5
5 And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Psalms 33
21 For our hearts rejoice in him, for we trust in his holy name.
Hebrews 10
22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience

Falling Asleep to the Sound of the Ocean

psalm 107 29

Psalm 107:29

He calmed the storm, and the waves  grew silent.

Ever since I was a baby, the stories told was that when I could not fall asleep, I could be walked along the ocean shore and I would immediately close my eyes and go to sleep. I have always had a love for the Ocean. I love the way it looks, I love the sound of the waves, and I get a relaxed feeling.

The Ocean’s beauty on a sunny day is breathtaking, amazing, and without comparison. I can stare at the distance and see it blend with the beautiful blue sky. I love seeing the fishing boats on the distance, and the surfers, boogie boarders, and people just being themselves. Some swim while others just sunbathe.

Whenever I plan a day on the beach, I look forward to the sound of the waves. Swiiissshhh, Swoooossshh, Woooosshhh, all are unique sounds that do not have a word to describe them. I hear a beautiful melody with every wave that forms, travels, and breaks on the shore.

There is such a relaxing feeling when I hear the waves. I put a blanket on the sand, lay on it, and before I know it, I am asleep. I does not matter how much other noise there is. I feel a hypnotic calmness that supersedes all the surrounding life happening at the moment.

There is a place in my heart for the Ocean. Maybe there are memories of my youth instilled in my heart. Either way, to this day, I can fall asleep every time I go to see the Ocean.

In the same token, that is how my life feels by trusting God. Knowing that he is by my side, I can fall asleep at night without any preoccupations. I have full trust in him. He is in control, not me. Why bother worrying? There is no need.

While the sound of the Ocean has a calming effect, so does the Word of God. It is in front of me to provide comfort. It gives me all I need. The Bible is a comprehensive book that includes all I need to make my day go well.
