Sharing Christian Words

Weary No More, My Lord

Jeremiah 31 25

Today’s Word

Exhausted in strength, endurance, vigor or freshness

Today’s Verse

Jeremiah 31:25

I will fully satisfy the needs of those who are weary and fully refresh the souls of those who are faint

Weary and Weak

There are days when we feel exhausted, not only physically, but also emotionally. It seems as our mind is filled with worries. All together causes us to lose our grip on life, even if for a moment. Needless to say, we become weary, we lose our strength, it’s hard to endure the day.

Satisfy and Refresh

However, God says that He will satisfy our needs when we are weary, and he will bring a breath of fresh air into our souls so that we may regain our strength. Cling on this promise. Seek God’s refreshing strength. Put on the armor of the Holy Spirit and give it your cares, heartaches, and concerns. Let your mind be renewed by the spirit and his grace.

Weary No More

After we let God refresh our spirit, we free our heart, mind, and soul to rejuvenate one more time. It is a completely new mindset. God’s word, spirit, and love will surround our mind and fill it with strength so that we may no longer feel faint.

Thank God

Thank you Lord for strengthening my mind, body, and spirit, for filling my heart with hope, my soul with strength, and my mind with loving scripture. Guide me today, and every day. Remind me to be weary no more.

My Heart Leads Me To God

With our hearts we feel. With our mind we think. The heart helps us feel emotions. Our mind processes them. Sometimes, our emotions take over and our mind loses control. Is that a bad thing?
Some may say it is. However, what if the heart is our guide? What if our heart leads us to God? Then, should we say it is not a bad thing, right? It could be that our mind is so cluttered with what we have learned, what we see, what people say its right, that it could cloud our emotions. It could lead us to believe that what we feel is not acceptable.
So, what to do then?
Well, if we allow our heart to feel our pure emotions then it should not lead us astray.
Whenever I do something acceptable by society’s standards, it isn’t necessarily acceptable to God. In that case, I feel shame. My heart, which is filled with God’s love, tells me to feel that way. If my heart is my way to God, then it is no wonder it allows me to feel shame when others feel differently.
In the same token, I may feel guilt while acting in a way that goes against Him. I am glad that I have a heart that helps me feel things that God has planted in it. He has planted seeds of knowledge so that it helps me discern right from wrong. Not because I am told so, but because I feel it in my heart. How wondrous.
Whenever my actions are pleasing to God, I feel happy. I feel joy. The same seeds planted in my heart help me understand that I have done something good, something right.
At the end of the day, my heart allows me to feel at peace with myself and with God. It served as my guide throughout the day to help me feel emotions according to my actions. It helped me feel that what I was doing was right or was wrong. It helped to guide me to God’s way, the right way, the only way.
Romans 5
5 And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Psalms 33
21 For our hearts rejoice in him, for we trust in his holy name.
Hebrews 10
22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience

I Will Prepare a Place for You

ephesians 4 10

Ephesians 4:10

He , the very one who descended, is also the one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.

When Jesus rose into Heaven, he went ahead of us in order to prepare a place for us to dwell with him. He wants to receive us with everything ready on our arrival. Just as we prepare for guests, so is he doing the same.

He wants to welcome us with open arms into the banquet of salvation. He wants each of us to be a guest, with Him as our host. He wants to ensure that each of us has a proper setting at his table. How awesome is that? Jesus wants us to feel at home when we are with him. He wants us to be comfortable.

I can’t imagine what it will be like, but I am surely looking forward to being with Him.

Long ago, I used to be afraid of death, but not anymore. The closer I get to Him, the less worried I am about it. I know that on that day, when my breath expires, he will receive my spirit until the day he calls us to his table. My body will be laid to rest, but only for a short time. For on that day of resurrection, he will wake me up and lift me into Heaven above, so I can partake of the joyous celebration.

I believe in the resurrection of the saints, the reunion of God’s people, a day without precedent, where all shall arrive. Who will arrive? All who believed that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, resurrected, and is sitting at the right hand of the Father, which is the simple plan of salvation.

For that to happen, we must believe in the simple plan of salvation. We must believe in our hearts that we are saved. We must believe in our hearts that we are children of God.

If you are a believer, then I can’t wait to the day we see each other in Heaven. For in this Earth we may never meet, but in Heaven we shall share our new lives.

Prayer for the Day

Father, I believe in my heart that Jesus died for my sins, was buried, resurrected, and is now sitting at the right hand of the Father. I believe in my heart that I am saved and I am your child.

Music for the Soul

music for the soul

Christian Music brings such joy to my day. I wonder about the lyrics, the melody, and the delight it brings to my soul. It is so easy to sit and listen to Gods praise in an angelic-melodic voice. Yet, I wonder about what it does for our growth as Christians and I decided to ponder on the subject.

Is it OK to listen to Christian music?

Psalms 147

1 Praise the Lord, for it is good to sing praises to our God!

Yes, praise is pleasant and appropriate!

I searched the Bible scriptures and found many verses that refer to music, instruments, psalms, and spiritual songs. It reads about praising God with music, to sing in unison of his glory, and to make music in our hearts to God.

It amazes me that no matter what subject we want to learn about, the Bible has scriptures that address our concerns, questions, and thoughts. The words in the Bible are a guide for our daily lives that we can use them every day to keep us in the right path.

The word of God is such a wonderful reassurance. Read, learn, and follow its teachings.

Psalms 98

5 Sing to the Lord accompanied by a harp,

accompanied by a harp and the sound of music!

6 With trumpets and the blaring of the ram’s horn,

shout out praises before the king, the Lord!

How can Music Help us Grow as Christians?

Ephesians 5

18 … but be filled by the Spirit,

19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing, and making music in your hearts to the Lord,

Music that edifies our spirit, fills us with his love, and speaks to our hearts gives God all the praise. He can see the harmony and love inspired by him and gives him joy.

Music that is for God’s glory, speaks to our soul, and gives us peace in our hearts is a praise to God’s love, everlasting life, and uplifting of our spirits to him.

If we are constantly in God’s word, by either listening to his musical praises or by reading his word, it will continue to instill God’s presence in our lives. It will give us guidance of his love.

If we are in harmony with God, we are growing as Christians. As we read and learn more of his teachings, we continue to edify our spirit.

Psalm 67

1 For the music director; to be accompanied by stringed instruments;

a psalm, a song.

May God show us his favor and bless us!

May he smile on us! (Selah)

2 Then those living on earth will know what you are like

;all nations will know how you deliver your people.

3 Let the nations thank you, O God!

Let all the nations thank you!

Discerning Christian Music

Proverbs 18

15 The discerning person acquires knowledge,

and the wise person seeks knowledge.

As Christians, we have the gift of discerning right from wrong. If our hearts speak to us in guilt, we know that we are not doing what is right. We apply that same gift to all we do.

If we are listening to Christian music, yet our hearts do not feel right, then we are using the discerning gift to understand. Just because one says he is a Christian, or a song is Christian, does not mean it is. It is up to each of us to use our knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to see clearly.

The eyes of a child of God are the ones that can see beyond others’ vision. God has provided us with ammunition that protects us from falsehood, evil attacks, and worldly traps. We are to use our discernment and understanding of God’s spiritual guidance to stay within what is of God.

Hosea 14

9 Who is wise?

Let him discern these things!

Who is discerning?Let him understand them!

For the ways of the Lord are right;

the godly walk in them,

but in them the rebellious stumble.

A Final Note

Music that is for God’s glory will edify our spirits, help us grow in our understanding of God’s word, and our discerning spirit will let us know that is good for our soul.

We are not to take any ones words for granted, but the Bible at its word, only. If we are in doubt, have questions, or want to learn, let the words in the Bible and scripture be our final guide to the decisions we make in our daily life.

God Listens, Works on Our Requests, and Answers

psalms 3 4 5

It is so hard to wait until the last minute to get an answer to prayer. As a human being, I tend to forget that he is in control and by allowing him such control; all works out in the end. We may be in the midst of a hard test. One that has us looking up in Heaven to ask, “Please, tell me what is it that you want me to do. I am waiting for an answer, but I am feeling the pressure.” In a matter of time, all is resolved, the situation has a solution, and we can bow our heads and thank him. However, it is a realization that God does listens, works on our requests, and answers, too.

God Does Listen

One thing that we can be assured of is that God is always listening. He hears our heartaches, our joys, our thoughts, and our prayers. We pour our hearts to him. Not always do we ask for something. There are times that we thank him for all the provisions he has given. However, there are times that we need his help, his guidance, and his intervention.

66:19 However, God heard; he listened to my prayer.

God Works On Our Request

Once he hears us, he starts working on our request. He stirs the hearts of those involved and causes many to harken to his request and work on his behalf. This is the time that we wait for his answer and continue praying. This happens while we continue to have faith. We know that he will help us through. We understand that it is he who is making things happen.

7:13 Consider the work of God: For who can make straight what he has bent?

God Answers Prayer

After he works on our request and it is resolved, he answers our prayer. At that point, we can rest assured and continue to believe in his love. His answer to prayer builds our faith and gives us continued hope. It may have been at the last minute, but sometimes it takes just that long. However, at the last minute, or early on, it means that he answered, he interceded, and he resolved it.

3:4 To the Lord I cried out, and he answered me from his holy hill. (Selah)

3:5 I rested and slept; I awoke, for the Lord protects me.

God listens to our prayers, he works on our requests, and he answers. This is powerful. It is important for us as believers to understand that he is always available. We are not alone. When all seems impossible, speak to him. Nothing is impossible for him.

What we need is faith as small as a mustard seed. However, we must have it. We must believe.

17:6 So the Lord replied, “If  you had faith the size of  a mustard seed, you could say to this black mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled out by the roots and planted in the sea,’  and it would obey  you.

If you are in the middle of a situation that is making you feel helpless, reach out to God. Pray to him. Ask him to intercede. Put your faith in him. Let him work on your behalf. Then experience his love as he answers your prayer.
