Painfully Broken, Cheerfully Uplifted

 Proverbs 15 13

Today’s Word

Painful

Causing mental anguish or suffering.

Today’s Verse

A joyful heart  makes the face cheerful, but by a painful heart the spirit is broken.

Joy in Our Hearts

To have joy in our hearts provides for happiness in our lives. It gives us an outlook that is like a rainbow in the sky after a storm. It reminds us of the promise of salvation, love, care, and goodness. When we are happy, we have a feeling in our lives that is hard to describe.

We see all the colors in life. We not only see goodness, but we feel good about ourselves. We have an inexplicable delight.

Painful Feeling of Heartache

On the contrary, when we go through a painful experience, our heart grows weary, our minds are weighted down, and our soul and spirit may be broken. Our joy may be gone, stolen, or vanished. Our hearts are heavy with burdens and turmoil.

Of the colors of life, we see, only, grey. We feel doomed, down, and helpless. A feeling, when explained, that provides immense sadness.

God Helps

If we have joy in our hearts, we give God thanks for so. However, if we are in the midst of a heartache, give God the upper hand and let him handle the situation, as not to go through it alone. Pray, ask, converse with God. Let Him know the heartaches being faced. He already knows it, he just wants to hear you. Why? Because he does not want to intervene unless you seek Him.

Turn it Around

Once God is intervening and handling your heartache, turn around and seek your joy. Delight in his help. Let him uplift your spirit and return cheerfulness to your soul. Let him abide with you, so your heartache has no choice but to bump itself out of your life. Rejoice with God and share your joy with those that surround you. Cheer and joy are contagious.

Hidden Secrets: Truth Revealed

Today’s Word

 Hidden

Keep (something) secret; prevent from being known or noticed.

Today’s Verse

 Luke 12

2 Nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, and nothing is secret that will not be made known.

Secrets have a way of revealing themselves. In time, all is known. As we grow in faith and knowledge of the Word of God, the Holy Spirit works in our hearts so that we may confess all our sins, not some, all.

It is such a relief to our heavy hearts once we confess. Our burden is lifted, our heart its cleansed of worries, and our mind is freed from guilt.

Burdens are Lifted

Carrying a secret is like carrying a huge rock on our backs. It weighs us down. It keeps us from working at full capacity. It keeps us from reaching our goals.

Confessing our sins lifts our burdens from our hearts and minds. It stops weighing us down. It allows us to focus on the word of God.

 Hearts are Cleansed

After we confess all of our sins, our hearts are cleansed by God’s forgiveness and acceptance. Instead of putting our efforts into hiding our secret, we can now place our efforts on learning, studying, and applying the Word of God. It can now speak to our cleansed hearts so that we may continue to grow as believers.

A cleansed heart seeks pureness, kindness, and love.

 Mind is Free from Guilt

After our hearts are cleansed, our mind is freed from all guilt. We have our thoughts of God in the forefront. We no longer have to worry, or feel guilty for hiding our secret. We let it out and with that; we released our mind from its binding guilty thoughts.

As our mind is freed, it seeks guidance, self-control, and knowledge.

Family: A Spiritual Unity

Today’s Word

Family

Those who descend from one common progenitor; a tribe or race; kindred; lineage.

A brotherhood of persons or nations united by political or religious ties.

Today’s Verse

 1 Peter 2

17 Honor all people, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the king.

Earthly Family

When we are born, we become part of our earthly family. They provide us with our physical needs. They teach us about love, unity, and care. We form a bond that lasts a lifetime. We become part of its history.

Spiritual Family

When we are born again, we become part of our spiritual family. A unity formed by our belief in Jesus Christ, his resurrection, and our salvation. It teaches us about loving one another, honoring those around us, and respecting each other. We are part of the body of Christ; we become sisters and brothers in faith. We form a bond that last through eternity. We become part of the Book of Life.

Note:

I thank my parents for giving me life, so that I could live and choose to love God, and so I could find His promises of life everlasting, faith by His Grace, and love unconditional.

Do you have a spiritual family?

John 1

12  But to all who have received him – those who believe in his name – he has given the right to become God’s children

13 – children not born by human parents or by human desire or a husband’s decision, but by God.

Innocence: A Heart that is Pure

1 timothy 1 5

Today’s Word

Innocence

Blameless, impeccable, faultless – the trusting innocence of childhood

Today’s Verse

1 Timothy 1: 5

But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

Maintaining a state of innocence, a pure heart, and a good conscience is the goal of all Christians. We try hard not to let the world absorb us and keep us wrapped in its worries, cares, and concerns. However, is not easy to do. We tend to do just that, and by doing so, we strain to not lose our innocence, our purity, and our faith.

State of Innocence

To maintain a state of innocence, we must keep a pure heart. A heart that sees no evil, hears no evil, and acts on goodness and faith. We Christians must work hard at this task. We must separate ourselves from the worldly life that takes on sexuality to extreme, hate to the maximum, and sin to the ends of the world. We have to maintain our eyes and ears open to love, faith, and goodness.

Pure of Heart

A heart that is pure is not tainted by sin, it is not tempted by sin, and it does not act in a sinful manner. It stays alert to act and sacrifice according to God’s Word and instruction. It must forgive, forget, and avoid ill thoughts. It must maintain a tenderness and innocence beyond reproach.

Good Conscience

In addition to keeping ourselves in a state of innocence and keeping a pure heart, we must keep a good conscience. We must let the Holy Spirit guide us so that we may lay at night without guilt, so we may rest in plentitude of Grace.
