Desperately Seeking God

james 4 6 7

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you desperately need God? Many of us have. Is it because we wait too long to ask him for help? Or, Is it because we forgot to pray to him to be with us through our difficulty? Either way, did you know that God is with us at all times? He waits for us to seek him. He waits for us to pray, He waits for us to ask.

From the moment we face a decision, small or big, we should be seeking God. There is no need to wait for a situation to become desperate. I know, sometimes, we feel as we can handle things on our own. Maybe, we can. However, would it not be simpler to handle our situations with God’s help? Of course it would. For that reason, seek God, pray to God, ask for help, and humble yourself.

 Seek God

In all we do, we need to seek God for guidance. Ask him to provide a path that will be difficult to ignore. Ask him to close the wrong path. There is no harm in seeking his guidance with specific outcomes. Whatever you do, seek him.

 Pray to God

Pray to seek wisdom. Pray to help you discern right from wrong. Pray to listen. Many times, we pray, but we forget to listen with our heart what God is saying to us. Open your heart and listen carefully.

 Ask for Help

Ask God for what you need. Let him know that with his help you can do better. Ask him to help you accept his help. Ask him to hold your hand or carry you in difficulties. He will do so.

 Humble yourself

Humble yourself when you seek God, when you pray to him, and when you ask for help. A humble heart is ready for God’s guidance and help.

James 4

6 But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.”

7  So submit to God.
