Our spiritual soul knows what is the right thing to do. However, our flesh, our mind, and our thoughts fight against the spiritual soul to no do so. Why? Well, as we shed off our human traits, we are working on getting rid of the negativity that surrounds our daily lives. We try hard not to fall into old habits, and we struggle with the emotional turmoil in our minds created by the influential negativity targeted at our lives.
However, God knows our weaknesses. He gives us a way to deal with each of them and edifies us through our trials so that we may have a pure heart filled with his love.
1:22 You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from a pure heart.
23You have been born anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.
2:1 So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.
2 And yearn like newborn infants for pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up to salvation,
Hatred is rooted in a person’s mind. Love is anchored in our hearts.
Hatred roots itself in a person’s mind, feeds on itself and spreads through their thoughts. It takes over the goodness inside, until love withers away, and a cold hardened mind is all that remains.
However, love anchors itself in a person’s heart, roots itself in the veins, travels deep into our soul, and feeds our lives to be free of the chains created by hatred.
With the purity of love inside our hearts, we are now free to love, to spread goodness, and to plant seeds of hope and salvation on those that witness our lives.
24 The one who hates others disguises it with his lips, but he stores up deceit within him.
25 When he speaks graciously, do not believe him, for there are seven abominations within him.
26 Though his hatred may be concealed by deceit, his evil will be uncovered
Forgiveness, even when not forgiven. Love, even if not loved.
It is not easy to forgive when not forgiven, nor love when not loved. It is in our nature to love those that love us and forgive those that forgive us. However, peace in our hearts comes from doing what is right, and what is hard, not what is wrong, not what is easy. We endure trials, wrongdoings, and treacherous accusations in order to continue to grow in love, to stay away from human hatred, and to continue edifying our minds and souls.
God be with us each day. Let him guide our loving heart to do what is right. If you falter, quickly amend, if you fall, quickly pick yourself up, when no one else can help, reach out to Heaven, and ask God to carry you through.
27 But I say to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High,
